For the last few years, I’ve been talking about visiting Montreal, as it has been so long since I visited my favourite city last. So, guess what?! A cool opportunity came up that I couldn’t pass up on – The W Montreal hotel invited myself and 6 other bloggers to experience a luxury lifestyle at their hotel.
In case you’re not aware, the W Hotel only has one location in Canada, and thankfully, it’s just an hour plane ride away from Toronto!
Once we arrived, the staff were already waiting outside to greet and help us with our luggage. We walked in, and immediately, our eyes were wandering all over the lobby. Of course, I started to take pics and show all of my Snapchat followers how amazing this hotel looked. The lobby was dimmed with a black, red and white theme with modern style furniture, which gave off a relaxing, cool ambiance.
The luxurious hotel recently revamped their 152 guest rooms with a modern makeover, so when I got into my “Fantastic” suite, I was in awe! Wow, is all I have to say! The guest room was gorgeous and very spacious for little 5′ 1/2″ me! It was decorated with black and white, accented with yellow and gold. It had a chill vibe with an open concept, that was very bright and airy. Being a style addict, I always tend to over pack, because I like to dress based on my mood. So when I saw their large closets, covered in mirrors, I was in heaven! I had lots of space to store my clothes, coats and shoes in, plus I was able to sneak in an outfit selfie on their closet mirrors.
The room was so spacious, but it also felt warm and inviting. There were many options to relax, which ever way you wanted – I opted to immediately throw on my pjs and check their oh-so-comfy king size bed!
I obviously had to test out the W Montreal’s room service, which was delivered on time and also very yummy!
The Insider Collective peeps, including myself, had our first meal at the W Montreal’s unique restaurant called E.A.T. It was covered in unique graffiti and pics, which immediately caught my attention! Our oh-so-yummy endless seafood dinner was prepared by the amazing Chef, Alan Ashkenazi. It was so delicious that I almost had to be rolled out of the restaurant because I couldn’t stop eating everything that was put in from of me.
I would recommend starting your day/evening dining or drinking at E.A.T. The environment will get your day/night started on the right foot!
On my last day at the W, I sneaked in some spa time at their 1200 sq ft spa called Away Spa – They offer nice, relaxing services such as massage therapy, facials, and manicures/pedicures. So, if you feel like escaping to a chill vibe, I would recommend that. I got the “Vitality” facial treatment, and it was heaven! My face felt rejuvenated immediately after my treatment.
If you’re a fit freak, such as myself, you can use their 24 hour gym. Something unique about this facility is they also offer a virtual personal trainer! Crazy, right?! All you need is an IPad/Tablet while you work out, and you can have a live trainer help your every move!
My fellow Insider Collective bloggers and I were invited to one of Old Montreal’s best outdoor festival called Igloofest, which is ongoing for 4 weeks. Montreal is normally colder than Toronto, so I was made sure to bundle up. At first I was worried, because I am not a fan of the cold, but once I got there, there wasn’t a shiver in sight. We were all too busy having way too much fun, dancing with big white yetis, sliding down big yellow slides, drinking yummy cocktails, and watching their amazing international DJ spin.
You should definitely check out the Igloo fest next year, if you didn’t get a chance to this year! More info on the cool festival here!
It was my first time flying Porter Airlines, and I now know why everyone raves so highly about it. It was a relaxed and great experience that you must try for yourself. I will definitely fly again with them soon!
It’s been over 10 years since I last visited the romantic, European-inspired city, and I will make sure I never leave it that long again!
So, if you’re looking for a great time in Montreal, with a cool vibe, or maybe just an mini escape from home, I would totally recommend staying at the W Montreal. The staff were very accommodating to all requests. And when I say accommodating, I mean it! Whatever you ask for, they will make it happen – as long as it’s legal of course!
