When I was asked to take part in an amazing festival experience with Bacardi in their mobile “House Party”, I said yes without thinking twice! I mean, who wouldn’t want to party with one of the worlds most awarded rum company, right?
The first of the two festivals I attended was on Canada long-weekend in my hometown, downtown Toronto, called Digital Dreams. I attended the event with my fellow blogger and friend, Karla. The festival was headlined by: Above & Beyond, Armin Van Buuren, Axwell Ingrosso, Bassnectar, Borgore, Danny Tenaglia, Knife Party, Pendulum, and Umek. It was flooded with a lot of cool creative outfits and costumes that had my eyes constantly wandering around. However, the best part of my part 1 of 2 festival experience with Bacardi was the “Bacardi House Party” that was parked right by the main stage. I spent most of my day hanging out by the house, sipping on their specialty drinks. The “Bacardi House Party” kept me busy all day! I got to play with their life size Jenga game, bean bag toss, and take fun pics in their bubble bath. We also had one of the best views of the main stage as we had access to their 2nd floor, y house! With a bar so conveniently close, and fun props to keep us busy to play with and take great pics, we had, like an outdoor bathtub shooting out bubbles, a gold round staircase, a bed on the second floor – Yes, I just said a bed on the second floor, and beanie bags to chill out on, it was the place to be. And that’s not all! They also had life-size jenga games, and bean toss games to keep you occupied throughout the day, in case you wanted to go head-to-head with your bestie!
Digital Dreams was filled with colourful outfits, stacked, colourful bracelets, crazy spectacular light shows, and a sea of smiles that were all there for a fun festive day in the t-dot!
The next stop was Pemberton Festival, in B.C. with Mr. Daniel Ocean, a fellow Torontonian blogger. We stayed in Whistler (one of the places I’ve always wanted to visit), which was just a quick 25 min shuttle to the Festival. The festival, which had over 100,000 attendees had many headliners such as Pearl Jam, J.Cole, The Killers, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Redman & Methodman, to name a few. The park was surrounded by beautiful tall mountains, with clouds floating not too far away from us. It was absolutely breathtaking, especially at night!
We started our day in the fun Bacardi “House Party” with a couple of yummy beverages, like their Mojito and Limonade bevies that we couldn’t stop ordering throughout our festival trip! The first part of the festival was more low-key, which I loved, because we were a bit jet lagged. Myself and Mr. Ocean were both jamming to Redman and Methodman as they were rapping to their greatest hits, and songs which brought back to my childhood memories – if you follow me on Snapchat: Deanne_wilder, you would have seen me naming to it!
On day 2, we had a different experience; It was much busier, and it flew faster than the first day. After fueling up on more Bacardi drinks in the pact “Bacardi House Party”, we made our way over to Billy Idol’s stage, where we saw grown men dressed up with 80’s hair style wigs, and a man in a banana costume jamming to his greatest hits – It was quite the experience and view! After the amazing 80’s icon show we realized that Chainsmokers was just about to start at the main stage. As Daniel and I quickly walked over, the rest of the festival attendees also made their way over, but the majority were running instead. Next thing you know, we found ourselves in the middle of thousands of people as they were dancing along with the rhythm and beats by the Chainsmokers. I’ve never seen such a crazy party like this in person, and to be a part of it was quite a cool feeling!
Even though there were periods where it rained, it got cold, and then hot, the “Bacardi House Party” kept us sheltered with their shaded picnic tables, warm with their red logo sweaters and covered from the rain under their tents, so I never felt uncomfortable.
I will remember this experience for the rest of my life! I feel blessed to have experienced such incredible festivals, and that’s all thanks to Bacardi Canada.
