Keeping warm in Parajumpers

Angie Down Jacket

Now that winter has officially showed up, it’s time to pull out your warmest winter coat so you don’t freeze your buns off! Even though I’ve lived in Canada my whole life, I still complain about the cold often. With that said, I need to make sure I stay as warm as possible, but look good at the same time! So when I heard about fashions world leaders in outerwear called Parajumpers AKA “PJs” I knew I had to put it to the test!

Parajumpers is a project deriving from the cooperation between Ape and designer Massimo Rossetti, who has many years of experience as a designer of outerwear, and also as an importer of American brands for the Italian market. A meeting with a serving member of the 210th Rescue Squadron in an ill-famed bar in Anchorage, Alaska provided inspiration for  Massimo Rossetti’s latest creation. The result is an extremely innovative outerwear collection with highly technological components, designed above all else to be functional.

Parjumpers - Angie Down Jacket

I decided to sport the Parajumpers “Angie Down Jacket” this winter because I loved the colour, and fur trim – The colour is the next best thing to black – It’s unique, and not many people will own anything like it, so why not?! The fur trim has always been that look I like to sport most when I wear winter coat, because it makes me look and feel extra cozy. It’s the perfect piece to own if you’re someone who lives on the country or even a city. No matter where you are, it will help you trek through any blizzard keeping you warm from head-to-toe.

The men of the 210th Rescue Squadron, based in Anchorage, Alaska, are highly trained for extreme rescues and recoveries in the wildest, most remote and hostile corners of the Globe. Whether it be ships adrift at sea, rock-climbers stuck atop a 4,000-meter peak, or submariners sunk at unimaginable depths, these men are called to intervene. They are the PJs – short for PARAJUMPERS. Tough and courageous, they are better trained than any other military corps, but most important, they use their skills and techniques to save lives.

My PJs coat choice was the “Angie Down Jacket”  – It includes a Removable fur trim, two-way zipper, it’s slim fitting and has down insulation, which means I look fashionably chic and super warm at the same time. To me, being warm comes first, but when you get the option of also looking cool, then it’s the right option! Yes, it is on the pricey side, BUT… you will definitely feel very warm and it should last you at least 5 years, if taken care of properly. These luxurious coats won’t be going out of style anytime soon, so I think it’s definitely worth the purchase!

You can find many different styles that range from long parkas to super lightweight downs to keep you comfortable throughout the changing seasons, so if you’re that type of person that hates heavy coats, there are many options to choose from!

Made of hard-wearing nylon, these jackets come with a removable down-padded lining and a fur-trimmed hood. The collar fastens with a hook used in parachuting. On the front lies a large, zippable multi-cargo pocket containing a further three pockets designed for carrying accessories, such as ipods, GPS devices, mobile phones, etc.…
