Spring Clean Your Beauty Routine

Spring cleaning isn’t just for your home – your beauty routine should change seasonally to reflect the specific needs that come with warmer weather and more sunshine. Now that we’ve entered spring, I’m focusing on feeling good from both the outside and the inside (because skirts and summer dresses are around the corner). I’ll put some of my top products to help me detox my winter beauty routine and embrace spring down below:

Two of my skincare lifesavers! The Vivier Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 ($65.00) is a must every day. It’s water-based and provides broad-spectrum UVA/UVB and SPF 30 protection in a sheer formulation that absorbs quickly; great to wear alone or under makeup. I also love the Vivier HYDRAGel Advanced B5+ Complex ($85.00), which is a hyaluronic acid gel that keeps my skin moisturized and refreshed, and is light enough for the warmer weather. I first tried my Vivier products following a skin consultation with my derm; you can find an authorized clinic or reseller that carries Vivier at www.vivierskin.com.

I love bouncy, voluminous hair in the spring and summer. I’ve been treating my hair to the Viviscal Gorgeous Growth Densifying Range ($19.99-$29.99), which includes a Shampoo, Conditioner, and Elixir – they work together to gently cleanse and moisturizes my hair while adding instant volume. I grabbed all my Viviscal products at Shopper’s Drug Mart, but they’re also available online at www.viviscal.ca.

Now that I’m able to incorporate more outdoor workouts into my routine, my hair is up a lot more. I love throwing it in a quick high pony, but I still want it to look polished. To give myself that Kim K-esque updo (aka a perfect hairline), I’ve been using the Toppik Hair Building Fibres ($29.95). They’re a keratin coloured fibre that mimics existing hair and creates the illusion of a flawless hairline. I use the shade Dark Brown, as seen above, but there are eight additional shades available online at www.toppikcanada.ca or at Shopper’s Drug Mart.

After a long winter of heavier foods, I’m looking forward to debloating and feeling light for the skirts and summer dresses that are about to appear. I’ve incorporated Sproos Collagen, specifically Sproos Up Your Gut ($49.99), to aide in better digestion and increased energy. I add it to my water each morning (it has a refreshing Apple Ginger flavour) and am really looking forward seeing further improvements to my gut health. Each scoop contains seven grams of grass-fed collagen, which is also great for my skin, and other key ingredients including organic aloe vera leaf gel and organic coconut water. You can order Sproos Collagen online at www.sprooslife.com or find it in select Bulk Barn, Noah’s, and Loblaws locations.
