When I was asked to spend a weekend in Montreal at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, I immediately said YES!!! I mean it’s one of the best known luxury hotels in the world, so how could I decline this amazing opportunity, right?!
When I arrived in Montreal via porter airlines, a black luxury car was waiting to take me directly to my weekend destination, the Ritz Carlton Montreal. Before stepping foot in the hotel, I was greeted with warm smiles by the bell boys, as they were conveniently carrying my luggage inside the hotel! When I walked in, it immediately gave off a warm cozy feeling, that showcased a lot of history and charm. It made me feel like I was taken back to when it first opened in the early 1900’s, with a modern twist to it!
Once I was settled in my Signature Room I was given a tour, where I saw a jaw-dropping aqua coloured salt-water pool, with floor to ceiling windows on the rooftop, a fitness room (in case you want to maintain a fit lifestyle), a flower shop – Yes, you heard that right… a flower shop (Gentleman, take note!), a gorgeous round staircase, St. James Spa (ooh la la!), and my favourite spot at the hotel, the palm court – which offered afternoon tea, and their recently launched Dom Perignon Champagne bar. It was just too beautiful not to spend my time in there and take a million pics!
I mean nothing beats breakfast in bed, right?! Yum!
The Ritz Carlton Hotel was kind to set up a fun tour with a guide in Old Port Montreal, where I learned so much about the cities go-to spots, their best bakeries and cafes, their cool Boat Spa on the river, and the most important, their history.
The Dom Perignon Champagne Bar offers signature cocktails, spirits and wine, as well as other champagnes by the glass, such as Verve Clicquot, Moet and Ruinhart. However, you can order Dom Perignon Brut Vintage 2004 and Brut Rose 2002 by the glass, ranging from $26 to $99. You can also get signature cocktails such as Cosmos, Martinis, Mojitos (which I love!) that range from $16 to $25. If you’re feeling like a glass of white or red wine, they go for under $20 a glass.
I had an amazing treatment at the St. James Spa, which lasted 4 hrs! I started off sitting peacefully in their dimmed lounge area in a robe while I sipped on tea. Shortly after, I was taken to a private room where they started the relaxing Body Care treatment called “The Ritz Carlton Montreal Maple Sugar Experience” – let me tell you, you need to do this treatment because, not only was my body fully exfoliated, I also smelled like delicious Maple Sugar! After the Body Care treatment, I was then given another relaxing treatment, but for my face, which was called the “Advanced Facial with Oxygen Blast”. By the time I was done with the spa, I was on cloud 9!
The Maison Boulud restaurant was a big hit for both a quick bite at the bar, or in their upscale dining area, as well as their garden and terrace (which are both open in summer). The French culinary traditional restaurant focuses on local produce and artisanal Quebecois products that will keep you coming back for more of their tasty meals!
What I found very intriguing while staying at the Ritz Carlton that I will remember was: Their friendly staff that quickly learned my name, and would greet me saying “Good morning Ms. Wilder!”, their signature scent of ginger white tea diffused through their vents, towel warmers, the heated bathroom floor, and getting served regular coffee to my room when I requested a wakeup call. It’s the little details that matter the most to me when I want to enjoy my time away at a luxury hotel, and I would totally recommend staying at the Ritz Carlton Montreal.
The Ritz-Carlton Montreal in collaboration with Pfaff McLaren will also be hosting Montreal’s most eventual Grand Prix party on Friday, June 10th (click here for tickets!)
